In the last two decades Dubai has become a destination well known for its luxury shopping, ultra-modern architecture and vibrant nightlife. Dubai is an extravagant metropolis that boasts grand scale luxury and the city has just unveiled its latest modern marvel in Deep Dive Dubai.
Deep Dive Dubai is the latest record-breaking attraction to make a splash in Dubai, it has been verified by Guinness World Records as the world’s deepest swimming pool for diving, with a depth of 60 metres.
It is the only diving facility in the world where you can dive to depths of 60m, which is 15 meters deeper and four times bigger than any other diving pool in the world. As you would expect, it is not just a swimming pool. Deep Dive Dubai features an entire sunken city for divers of all abilities, from beginner to professional, to explore.
Located in Dubai’s Nad Al Sheba neighbourhood, Deep Dive Dubai features an “abandoned streetscape featuring an apartment, garage and arcade, amongst other surprises”, the company says in a statement. There are also two underwater habitats with a dry chamber at six and 21 metres. Basically, it is so large that it would take a series of dives to be able to explore the entirety of its sunken city.
Their goal at Deep Dive Dubai is to offer a unique, all-round diving experience to its visitors. Maintained at an optimal 30 degrees Celsius, the pool is comfortable to get into at all times.
Deep Dive Dubai is staffed by professional and experienced scuba and free divers, who will offer their knowledge to divers of all skill levels. This place has spared no expenses and it is evident in their safety precautions. Water. is circulated through filters every six hours to maintain the highest standards of safety and hygiene. There is also a fully-staffed, 12-person hyperbaric facility, the largest and most advanced in the region, to treat divers in the unlikely event of an accident. All divers are monitored for safety on large screens displaying the feed from the 56 cameras covering the entire pool. All experiences have a “low guide-to-guest ratio”, and high-end equipment rental is included.
For those looking for the perfect instagram content, Deep Dive Dubai is also the region’s largest underwater film studio, complete with a media editing room, a video wall, 56 underwater cameras and the ability to create different moods with 164 lights positioned throughout the pool.
Deep Dive Dubai’s structure was designed to look like a giant oyster in recognition of the UAE’s pearl diving heritage. Aside from the state of the art pool, there is a dive shop, a gift shop, an 80-seat restaurant, a variety of meeting and event spaces, and spacious viewing areas on the lower floors of the building allowing visitors to peer into the pool from outside.
Deep Dive Dubai is currently open to both residents and visitors from ages 10 and up, ranging from first timers to professional divers.
